Earlier this year, my brother confided in me that he wanted to propose to his then-girlfriend. After countless text messages and a few heart-to-heart conversations, we put a plan in motion. Invitations were created and sent, guests RSVP’d, a local decorator was confirmed, and all the little touches he requested were packed in my wagon,

ready to bring his vision to life.



On the day of the proposal, my team and I transformed the hotel room for the happy couple.

After a quick nap, we made our way to the restaurant to await the couple’s arrival. The nerves were kicking in as we sipped our welcome cocktails, nibbled on appetizers, and waited for the big moment.

Of all the proposals I’ve witnessed, I’ve never seen a groom come prepared with a handwritten, page-long declaration of love.

As I captured every moment behind the camera, one of my sisters hosted a FaceTime call with more than 15 loved ones tuning in. Needless to say, there wasn’t a dry eye on either end of the call.

She said YES!

And the couple was so appreciative of all the little details that were Curated by Chafeeza just for them.

I believe there’s something special about finding your person young and choosing to build a life together. Tomorrow isn’t promised, so why wait to celebrate the love you have today?

Take the trip, make the memories, say “I love you” a little more often, and marry the person you want to do life with. We spend so much time waiting for the right moment that we sometimes forget the moment is right in front of us.
