I consider myself a master manifestor. The things I speak over my life tend to find their way to me. I joke that I’m God’s favorite, that I’m a lucky girl, that good things just come to me. Truthfully, I believe it.

The Philadelphia 76ers @ Miami Heat game on March 30, 2026 was the talk of the Bahamian community for months. From WhatsApp to Facebook to parties, we knew we were pulling up for VJ.From the moment the schedule dropped, it was understood. We were going.

During a meeting at work, I mentioned to our BOLD leadership that I wanted to attend. Within a week, an invitation came through for me to attend as a guest with a complimentary ticket. Just like that. I told my siblings and of course, no one was surprised. Chardinal always says I need to channel that same energy into the lottery and to that I say, it’s coming. I’ve already claimed retiring by 40, so the lotto or lump sum however it happens, it will.

After a full day of work, I made my way to 601 Restaurant & Lounge for a pregame dinner with the ladies of BOLD. We were celebrating March birthdays and Women’s History Month. Despite getting caught in the rain, the night started on a high note. We were greeted by management and received a complimentary card and photo to mark the moment.

By tip-off, we were in our seats with a great view and even better energy. The arena was filled with Bahamian pride. Flags everywhere, custom shirts, Philadelphia 76ers jerseys, all showing up to support VJ. I hope he felt every bit of that love. He played 30 minutes and finished with 13 points and 5 assists. For most of the game, it felt like the Philadelphia 76ers had it. In the final minutes, the Miami Heat turned it up. They got more aggressive and more strategic. A few key three-pointers, some desperate fouls, timeouts, and just like that the momentum shifted. Final score was 119 to 109, Heat.

After the game, I walked less than a mile to the Metromover and caught the last Brightline home. Over the past two years, I have really become a commuter. I am not quite ready for big city life, but I love knowing that I can move around with ease when I need to.

I wish I was heading to Bimini Homecoming this weekend. I have been hearing about the flights coming in and the ferries docking. The number of people that island holds during homecoming is mind blowing.

Less than a year ago, we were there as VJ announced he was entering the draft. What a difference a year makes.

We are so proud of his first season in the league and even more proud of the inspiration he continues to be!

BIMINI to the WORLD!
